Isopropyl Alcohol 99.9% (IPA) – High Purity Cleaner for Electronics, Resin & Degreasing
Isopropyl Alcohol 99.9% (IPA) – High Purity Cleaner for Electronics, Resin & Degreasing
Description
ONYX Isopropyl Alcohol 99.9% (IPA, isopropanol) is a high-purity solvent that dissolves grease, oils, flux and adhesive residue, then evaporates in seconds with no residue left behind. With almost no water in it, it's the go-to cleaner for electronics, 3D printing and surface prep.
Popular uses
- Electronics: circuit boards, connectors, keyboards and removing old thermal paste
- 3D printing: washing resin prints and degreasing print beds
- Surface prep: removing oils before painting, gluing, vinyl or sealants
- Glass and mirrors: streak-free cleaning when mixed with distilled water
- Sticky residue: lifting label glue and tape marks
- Salon and workshop: wiping down tools, brushes and workstations
Make your own 70% mix
Mix 7 parts IPA 99.9% with 3 parts distilled water for a general-purpose surface cleaner. Keep it at 99.9% for electronics, where you want no water left behind.
Before you use it
IPA is gentler than acetone, but it can soften some paints, varnishes and plastics such as acrylic. Test on a small hidden area first.

What's the difference between 99.9% and 70% IPA?
99.9% IPA contains almost no water, so it evaporates quickly and leaves no residue. That makes it the better choice for electronics, glass, screens and resin. If you need a weaker mix, you can dilute it with distilled water.
Is it safe to use on electronics?
Yes, when the device is switched off and unplugged. Apply it with a lint-free cloth or swab and let it evaporate fully before switching the device back on.
Can I use it for resin 3D printing?
Yes. 99.9% IPA is widely used to wash resin prints and clean tools, build plates and vats.
How should I store it?
IPA is highly flammable. Keep the cap tightly closed and store it upright in a cool, well-ventilated place, away from heat, sparks and open flames, and out of reach of children.
