ONYX VG/PG Base Mix is a ready-mixed blend of vegetable glycerine (VG) and mono propylene glycol (PG), both USP/EP food grade. Choose from 11 ratios, from 100% VG to 100% PG, so you can skip measuring and go straight to adding flavour. This is a nicotine-free base. We do not sell nicotine.
Which ratio should I choose?
- 50/50: pods and mouth-to-lung devices. Balanced flavour and vapour.
- 70/30: sub-ohm tanks. Smoother, with more vapour.
- 80/20 and higher VG: RDAs and large wicks. Dense clouds.
- Higher PG: a sharper throat feel and stronger flavour.
The first number is always VG. Always check your device maker's recommendation. Use the free calculator on this page to work out the final ratio after adding flavour.

Storage
Keep the cap tightly closed and store in a cool, dry place out of direct sunlight. VG thickens in the cold, so warm the sealed bottle in warm water if it pours slowly.

FAQ
Which ratio should I choose?
For sub-ohm tanks and bigger clouds, go 70/30 or higher VG. For pods and mouth-to-lung devices, 50/50 is the usual choice. More PG gives a stronger throat hit and carries flavour well, but the liquid is thinner.
What grade is it?
We blend food grade USP/EP vegetable glycerine (99.5% min) and mono propylene glycol (99.8%). Nothing else is added.
PG makes my throat sore. What should I use?
Some people find PG harsh. Try a higher VG ratio such as 80/20, 90/10 or 100% VG.
How should I store it?
Keep the cap closed and store somewhere cool, dry and out of direct sunlight. VG can thicken in the cold; a warm water bath loosens it.
